‘House Of the Rising Sun’ New Orleans Music-Driven Drama In Works At ABC From Duane Adler & eOne

 ” />
In broadcast, the indie studio also is behind new Fox drama series Deputy, headlined by Stephen Dorff. At ABC, eOne has cop drama The Rookie starring Nathan Fillion, which is returning for a second season.
House of the Rising Sun fits into one of ABC's top goals this development season, to find “a big, provocative soap” with bold, loud storytelling, the network's Entertainment President Karey Burke told Deadline last month, noting that family soap is one of the main areas they are exploring.
EXCLUSIVE: In a competitive situation, ABC has landed soapy musical drama series House of the Rising Sun, I have learned. No one would comment but I hear the project, from Step Up and Save the Last Dance writer Duane Adler and indie studio Entertainment One, has received a put pilot commitment.
The exact physical location of the House of the Rising Sun establishment in New Orleans, immortalized in the folk song, is not known, with scenarios  raging from a prison to a brothel to a restaurant/nightclub.
it is described as a Romeo and Juliet-style soap about two feuding families set against the backdrop of the famous New Orleans night club. Written by Adler, House of the Rising Sun is said to be in the vein of Moulin Rouge.
(You can watch the song's arguably most famous rendition by The Animals below.) I hear respected R&B singer-songwriter Raphael Saadiq, an Oscar nominee for Mudbound, will contribute music for the potential series, which is expected to incorporate the famous folk song whose title mirrors the name of the show.

AMC Closing New Orleans & Baton Rouge Theaters As Tropical Storm Barry Approaches

Flash flood watches are in effect for parts of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and the western Florida Panhandle.
In regards to the box office, distributors aren't expected a major fallout from Barry with that portion of the Gulf Coast region generating less than 1% of the weekend's ticket sales.” />
Don't expect moviegoers in Louisiana's Gulf Coast to head to Sam Raimi's Category 5 hurricane/alligator movie Crawl this weekend, or any title for that matter. With Tropical Storm Barry expected to dump 25 inches of rain after it reaches landfall Saturday as a Category 1 hurricane, AMC is shutting down all New Orleans and Baton Rouge locations at 6 p.m. local time tonight, and they'll stay closed through Saturday.
New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell is asking New Orleans residents to take shelter beginning at 8 p.m.
Bernard, Plaquemines and St. States of emergency have been declared in the Orleans, Jefferson, St. Charles parishes, with mandatory evacuations ordered in Jefferson and Plaquesmine parishes. New Orleans has a system of pumps that go into effect in flooding situations, but they'll only remove an inch of rainwater in the first hour of the storm, CNN reports.
Parts of New Orleans already are underwater with the Mississippi River, which is usually at 6 to 8 feet in midsummer, now at 16 feet. Barry is poised to push the river's level to 19 feet — a measure not seen since February 1950, per CNN and the Weather Channel.

Dave Bartholomew Dies: Rock And Roll Hall Of Famer Worked With Fats Domino, Was 100

He wrote and recorded “My Ding-a-Ling,” which became a hit for Chuck Berry, and he produced Lloyd Price’s recording of “Lawdy Miss Clawdy,” which Price had written, with Domino, uncredited, playing piano. After working at Imperial Records as a talent scout, he also helped such labels as Decca, King and Specialty discovered the New Orleans sound.
“Actually, we never sat down to write anything,” Bartholomew said. If we started a song and we got lost … I remember one time on ‘‘I’m in Love Again,’ we went outside and somebody said, ‘Don’t let the dog bite you.’ So we come back and put that in the song. It went over big.” With that, and what we added to it, we were very lucky. We always had an awful lot of rhythm in our world, plus the blues, and New Orleans being known for its second-line, we considered that, too. “He and I just played.
Bartholomew was born in Edgard, Louisiana on Christmas Eve in 1918.
No memorial plans have yet been announced.” />
He also worked for Trumpet Records and Mercury Records, before establishing his own label, Broadmoor Records, in 1967.
He played in bands led by Papa Celestin, Fats Pichon and Joe Robichaux until joining the Army in World War II, where he was a member of the 196th Army Ground Forces Band.
Survivors include his wife, Rhea Bartholomew; five sons, Dave Jr., Don, Ron and Darrell Bartholomew, and Alvin LeBeau, all of New Orleans; three daughters, Deborah Hubbard and Diane Wilson, both of New Orleans; and Jacqueline Temple of Atlanta; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In an interview with the Times-Picayune newspaper, the two discussed their musical collaboration.
He was a key behind the scenes man at Cosimo Matassa’s J&M Recording Studio, matching musicians and producing some of New Orleans most memorable music by artists including Smiley Lewis, Snooks Eaglin, Little Sonny Jones, Pee Wee Crayton, Shirley and Lee, Frankie Ford and Sugarboy Crawford.
He was the longtime collaborator of Fats Domino, helping him write, arrange and perform some of the nation's biggest hits back in the 1950's and 60's. A member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame, Bartholomew was a trumpeter, producer, arranger, songwriter, and bandleader.
Chudd was impressed and signed him to a contract. He invited Lew Chudd, the owner of Imperial Records, to hear Domino in a club on North Rampart Street. Bartholomew nurtured Domino's career, letting him sit-in with his band when Domino was just a teenager.
The two went on to produce such hits as “I’m Walkin’,” “Blue Monday,” “I Hear You Knocking” and “Whole Lotta Lovin’.”
He was 100 years old. Dave Bartholomew, credited by many with creating early rock 'n roll in his work with Fats Domino, has died at age 100 at East Jefferson General Hospital in New Orleans, his son said.
The first Domino song, a version of Junker Blues that was renamed "The Fat Man," marked the first collaboration with Bartholomew. It was considered a landmark in New Orleans music, a meld of jump blues and rhythm-heavy style that was made for dancing.

Daniel Caesar – Who Hurt You? Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Take me back to Georgia, back to Atlanta
Funny how present turns past
I might fly Priscilla out just for ‘Bana
So mesmerized by that ass
The way she moves it I can tell that she loves me
Nigga can’t help but to touch
Smack it ’round a bit then sip on some bubbly
Hope I’m not doing too much
[Refrain]
Strange new addictions picked up on the road
Changed my opinions and changed up my flows
Changed my approach, no more loving these hoes
And when it rains it pours, yeah
[Pre-Chorus]
You make me feel so primal
That’s what I am, I’m just a man
[Chorus: Daniel Caesar & T-Pain]
Take that pussy, drop it in my lap
I love it when you move like that
Now turn around and throw it back, it back, it back
Oh-no-no-no-no-oh
[Verse 2]
Strippers out in Vegas, New Orleans too
Booties just don’t shake like Priscilla’s do
Follies on a Tuesday, not one but two
Not one stack but two
Look at all the cash I blew
Strippers out in Vegas, New Orleans too
Booties just don’t shake like Priscilla’s do
Follies on a Tuesday, not one but two
Not one stack but two
Look at all the cash I blew
[Refrain]
Strange new addictions picked up on the road
Changed my opinions and changed up my flows
Changed my approach, no more loving these hoes
And when it rains it pours, yeah
[Pre-Chorus]
You make me feel so primal
That’s what I am, I’m just a man
[Chorus]
Take that pussy, drop it in my lap
I love it when you move like that
Now turn around and throw it back, it back, it back

Tropical Storm Gordon Shuts Down New Orleans Film & TV Productions: “Safety Is First”

Film and TV productions in New Orleans are shutting down early as Tropical Storm Gordon bears down on the Gulf Coast. “We’re all being cautious and keeping an eye on it,” said Cory Parker, business agent of IATSE Local 478 in the Big Easy, whose offices are still open at this time.
We’ve been through this before.” Safety is first. Two productions, he said, “chose to shut their doors for the next two days, and one production went home early. Everybody’s taking precautions.
Still, tropical storm, storm-surge and flash-flood warnings are in effect through early Wednesday night for the Crescent City with "potential threat to life and property," the National Weather Service said today.” />
But Parker noted that Mississippi, where the local has members, already is being hit by high winds and heavy rain, but there aren’t any productions going on there at the present time. New Orleans isn’t expected to take the brunt of the storm, but “we’re expecting heavy rains and some loss of electricity,” he said.

How Drake Cleverly Ended Meek Mill Beef On “Family Feud” With Lil Wayne

Drake Links With Lil Wayne On “Family Feud” Off “Dedication 6” Part 2 Keiotia Watson filed a paternity lawsuit against Lil Wayne in 2015 claiming that he is the father of her 15-year-old son, Dwayne, a name she gave him after his alleged father. He also claimed that Watson is lying because he never slept with her. Up until now, I have never been involved in a child support case,” Lil Wayne said in his legal docs. Wayne is also required to cover the child’s medical and school expenses. He said he did not acknowledged Dwayne Brown as his child and says its not possible that he is the father. Lil Wayne pretty much ignored her case and she filed a default judgement and won, which means that Weezy would be required to pay her child support of $5,000 per month starting January 2016. Wayne is also arguing that he was never made aware of the child until the lawsuit, so he was never given due process to investigate whether or not he is the child’s biological father. The rapper also claimed that Watson fraudulently obtained the judgement against him by lying and deception. In her suit, she asked the court to name Lil Wayne as the father of her child and order him to pay her child support. “I am the loving father of four (4) children, all of whom I provided support for since birth. The “A Milli” rapper is now responding to the paternity suit and one thing he is making clear, he is not the father of the teenager,” The Blast reported. The Dedication 6 rapper added in his response to the suit that while he was residing in New Orleans in 2001, his schedule required him to travel out of town extensively. She claimed that she slept with the rap icon back in 2001 and got pregnant.

G-Eazy – Eazy Lyrics

This is all you’re living for
Really it was that and Dev, that was all you had
Paying rent by engineering other rappers at the pad
Barely getting by, hella broke, you was doing bad
Then “These Things Happened”, you finally seen a bag
You drove down the highway, a fork in the road
A normal life with her, or going for broke? You know? [Verse 4]
Make no mistake, listen it’s the life that I was chosen for
All I prayed for was an open door
I’ve been rich, I’ve been broke before
I’ve seen the floor
You try to put me in a box, I’ll box out like Okafor
And fuck being indecisive now I’m so for sure
And fuck Trump, it’s like “What the fuck we voted for?”
And most of y’all should probably party less and focus more
And if that line resonates, you’re probably who I wrote it for
Where will I go from here? [Hook]
Easy, easy
Pull out your heart to make the being alone
Easy, easy
Pull out your heart to make the being alone
Easy
Easy
Easy [Hook]
Easy, easy
Pull out your heart to make the being alone (yeah)
Easy, easy (talkin’ to my younger self)
Pull out your heart to make the being alone
[Verse 1]
Dear Gerald, you’re fourteen years and a truant
You’re trying to find your place, and figure out where you fit
You’re finna start rappin’ with a kid you went to school with
But, more on that later, right now you’re going through it
See, you’re going to have to prove that you ain’t soft and you’re not stupid
And you gon’ have to scrap with some kids that you ain’t cool with
You got a short temper, just be careful when you lose it
You wanna be the man, but it’s gon’ take some time to prove it
You’ll fall in love, but she’s gon’ break your heart and put you through it
Fuck falling for that bullshit, you gon’ fall in love with music
You’re finna get arrested, almost fuck around and lose it
Spend days in juvy standing at the window, looking through it
Nothing in life is promised, not even free-time is
So, only chase dreams, and only chase commas
Won’t happen on its own, trust, trust, we’ve been through it
[Pre-Hook]
If it was easy, everyone would do it
This game is not…
[Hook]
Easy, easy (Eazy)
Pull out your heart to make the being alone
Easy, easy
Pull out your heart to make the being alone
[Spoken]
I mean, I was fucking up
I was seventeen, I was eighteen, just doing dumb shit
My moms made me move to New Orleans and shit, I went to school down there on a scholarship
I finally got my shit together, I started taking music seriously
Then it started to kinda pop off a little bit, almost
[Verse 2]
Dear Gerald, 21, you think you’ve got it figured out
Got a big head from them labels trying to bring you out
‘Til they passed on you, they ain’t see what they was missing out
On, that flight home gave you some shit to think about
Scrambling trying to figure out, went back to the drawing board
Know they say rejection’s only supposed to make you want it more
But, no lie, you contemplating quitting, walking out the door
But, what the fuck you supposed to do? I seen an open lane and I drove straight through it
[Pre-Hook]
If it was easy, everyone would do it
This game is not…
[Hook]
Easy, easy
Pull out your heart to make the being alone
Easy, easy
Pull out your heart to make the being alone
[Spoken]
I literally sold all my shit
I moved out of my place in New Orleans
I was bouncing around, living out of a suitcase
Crashing on friends’ couches
Living at air B&Bs and hotels
Trying to make the album
Trying to make When It’s Dark Out
If I could take it there, that’d be great
[Verse 3]
Dear Gerald, life changed since you dropped your second album
And Me, Myself & I just went 7x Platinum
Toured around the world, damn, you really had ‘em
But now you’re 27 and it’s time to be a legend
Back when it all started, grinding hard on that promo tour
Tired from the night before and the night before and the night before
Fuck it, tomorrow, gotta fly some more
Don’t complain, this is what you signed up for
You’re working for your family, managers, agents
They all want something different from you, tell them all patience
But, this one’s on you, the lonely quest of greatness
Been trying to be famous, been trying to be A-list
When you arrive, it will appear as if there’s nothing to it
But, you planted the seeds and you grew it
There’s people taking credit for success that they had nothing to do with
[Pre-Hook]
If it was easy, everyone would do it
This game is not…
[Hook]
Easy, easy (Eazy)
Pull out your heart to make the being alone
Easy, easy
Pull out your heart to make the being alone
[Spoken]
So now you’re here
What you gon’ do with it? “IDK”
They want me to architect Rome, in a day
Juice knew I was greatness when he looked at me
Right away, I’ve made platinum records that’ll never see the light of day
This is what the whole world’s been waiting for
The crowd’s jumping, going dumb till they break the floor
Come take a walk inside my mind, come and take a tour
I’m really not playing, what the fuck you take me for?

Alt-J – House Of The Rising Sun (Relaxer Album)

[Verse 1]
There is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it’s been the ruin of many a poor soul
And, Lord, my father’s one

[Verse 2]
My mother, she’s a tailor
She sews those new blue jeans
To keep my gambling father drunk
Deep down in New Orleans

[Chorus 1]
It’s a happy, happy, happy, happy, fun day, day

[Verse 3]
Like a bird flying over forest fire
My father feels the heat beneath his wings
And in debt he leaves for another town
Where he gambles and, drunk, he still drinks

[Verse 4]
My mother hides from pleasure
And thinks of Father on her knees
Lifted in the arms of God
Away from New Orleans

[Chorus 2]
Happy, happy, happy, happy, fun day, day
Happy, happy, happy, happy, fun day, day

Hi-Rez – On My Job (Missing Pieces Album)

Chasing this dreams

Money forming with King and Queens

I don’t need nobody cause I got myself
Way to many eating off my my table without bring shit
If it’s in my cup

Deal what they told me
I couldn’t and they are speechless
You can do anything in the world if you dream it

[Chorus]

Don’t let your life waste go away
Promise you the pain would fade away
There’s a sunshine after the rainy days
What they whip they can take away

Drinking and smoking on hotel balcony
Teacher told me quit so fuck the faculty

They don’t what I went through to get where I’m at
Did it on my own with no degree gown or cap
And all the pain I went through

PJ Morton – Claustrophobic (feat. Pell)

[Intro]
Just gotta be me
So many voices

[Verse 1]
PJ, you’re not mainstream enough, yeah
Would you consider us changing some stone?
Like everything about who you are, ah
No offense, we’re just trying to make you a star

[Chorus]
But I must admit, I’m claustrophobic
I have a hard time trying to fit into your small mind
And I have a habit of dreaming bigger than anything
I can see right in front of me

[Verse 2]
PJ, you’re not quite street enough
Thug life my nigga
Actor, little more time
Oh, can you switch your star up a little more?
You can be yourself, lay down for now
And need the religion

[Chorus]
But I must admit, I’m claustrophobic
I have a hard time trying to fit into your small mind
And I have a habit of dreaming bigger than anything
I can see right in front of me

[Bridge]
Can’t see, the forrest for the trees
The movement for the breeze
Standing on my own feet
Can’t see, what you might want from me
Think it’s better if we be ourselves

[Verse 3]
They clatch into my talents more than Catholics do arousery
Steady ass, wear that accent, travel you from New Orleans
Go so, why I dabble with negative energy
When all I really fiend is imposi sensibility
Not the hardest rapper but I’m ’bout it much as Master P
Don’t play with me, five-0 for my home
Don’t you know that
Flooding through the streets
You should probably take a kodak
Codo synthesize probably right in front eyes
Made a trip to Cali and came back a different guy
Living through the same eyes, riding Uber, still got drived
The truest never lie and I need a little space
‘Cause I’m bad at doing me
Just reside if you are late

[Chorus]
I’m claustrophobic
I have a hard time to fit into your small mind
And I have a habit of dreaming bigger than anything
I can see right in front of me

[Outro]
Another man, just gotta be you
I think that the thing makes us unique
It’s our differences with our treasures
Somebody always tryna make you fit in a box
And never seen again, don’t think it’s possible

LLOYD – Strapped lyrics

Aint no nigga up in here
Betta come fuckin wit me
Cause im a real bad man
Wit a gun in my hand
And unlike you niggas
I am not afraid to squeeze
Ya telephone ringin
Kelly Price on line one
Fat girl singin
I said kelly price on line one
All you get is flatline
Fuckin round where im from
I be on the back nine
Swingin in my bay shorts
Listenin to every line little wayne and drake wrote
I said little wayne wrote
But my nigga never write
Now lets get right tonight
I got my niggas, my bitches, my liquor my weed
My niggas, my bitches, my liquor, my weed
Brand new drop top
Check the shot clock
Better know what time it is
You can get your shot blocked
Like Yao Ming
If you know what I mean
B-M-dub blue
With the seat side green
I be fuckin out in public to let it be seen
And I rock your republic
Like my jeans

I lost my city to Katrina
Can anybody tell me have you seen her
New Orleans uptown to Louisa
Left up in the water no FEMA
Close your eyes nigga
See what I see
People on the streets dyin
From hunger and disease
Politicians no trying
To find the remedy
Since they rather open fire
More guns no jobs for hire
So nothin’s left but hustlin
In my community
So im rushin niggas
Just so I can feed my family
No welfare from the government
When love is all we need
Nah love is all you need
Just give me my money

My niggas some bitches some weed
My niggas my bitches my liquor my weed
Brand new drop top
Check da shot clock
Better know what time it is
You can get your shot blocked
Like Yao Ming
If you know what I mean
B-M-dub blue
With the seat side green
I be fuckin out in public
To let it be seen
And I rock your republic
Like my jeans

Bobbie Gentry – Fancy

"Well, I remember it all very well lookin’ back
It was the summer that I turned eighteen.
We lived in a one-room, run down shack
On the outskirts of New Orleans.

We didn’t have money for food or rent
To say the least we was hard-pressed
When Momma spent every last penny we had
To buy me a dancin’ dress.

Well, Momma washed and combed and curled my hair,
Then she painted my eyes and lips.
Then I stepped into the satin dancin’ dress.
It had a split in the side clean up to my hips.

It was red, velvet-trimmed, and it fit me good
And standin’ back from the lookin’ glass
Was a woman
Where a half grown kid had stood.

She said, "Here’s your last chance, Fancy, don’t let me down!
Here’s your last chance, Fancy, don’t let me down."

Momma dabbed a little bit of perfume
On my neck and she kissed my cheek
Then I saw the tears welling up
In her troubled eyes as she started to speak

She looked at our pitiful shack and then
She looked at me and took a ragged breath
She said, Your Pa’s runned off, and I’m real sick
And the baby’s gonna starve to death.

She handed me a heart-shaped locket that said
"To thine own self be true"
And I shivered as I watched a roach crawl across
The toe of my high-healed shoe

It sounded like somebody else was talkin’
Askin’, "Momma what do I do?"
She said, "Just be nice to the gentlemen, Fancy.
They’ll be nice to you."

She said, "Here’s your last chance, Fancy, don’t let me down!
Here’s your last chance, Fancy, don’t let me down.
God forgive me for what I do,
But if you want out girl it’s up to you
Now don’t let me down,
Now get on out, you better start sleepin’ uptown."

That was the last time I saw my momma
When I left that rickety shack
The welfare people came and took the baby.
Momma died and I ain’t been back.

But the wheels of fate had started to turn
And for me there was no other way out.
It wasn’t very long after that I knew exactly
What my momma was talkin’ ’bout.

I knew what I had to do.
Then I made myself this solemn vow:
I’s gonna to be a lady someday
Though I didn’t know when or how.

But I couldn’t see spendin’ the rest of my life
With my head hung down in shame.
You know I mighta been born just plain white trash.
But Fancy was my name.

"Here’s your last chance, Fancy, don’t let me down!
Here’s your one chance, Fancy, don’t let me down.

Wasn’t long after that a benevolent man
Took me in off the streets
One week later I was pourin’ his tea
In a five roomed penthouse suite.

Charmed a king, a congressman
And an occasional aristocrat
And I got me an elegant Georgia mansion
And a New York townhouse flat.

Now I ain’t done bad

Now in this world there’s a lot of self-righteous
Hypocrites who call me bad.
They criticize Momma for turning me out
No matter how little we had.

Though haven’t had to worry ’bout nothin’
Now for nigh on fifteen years
But I can still hear the desperation
In my poor mommas voice ringin’ in my ears.

"Here’s your last chance, Fancy, don’t let me down!
Oh, here’s your last chance, Fancy, don’t let me down.
God forgive me for what I do,
But if you want out well it’s up to you.
Now your mama’s helping you move uptown."

Scotty ATL – Top Drop (feat. Curren$y) (Smokin On My Own Strain Mixtape)

[Chorus]
Window down, top drop chiefin’ on a fat one
Window down, top drop chiefin’ on a fat one
Window down, top drop chiefin’ on a fat one
Outta ten hoes, nigga bet you I could mac one
Window down, top drop

[Verse 1: Curren$y]
In and out of lanes dripping drops of paint
Cheeseballs, Dana Dane’s, smoking my own strain
Some of the trillest in the game who still remain
Mentally independent the last lyricist the original track flippers
The booth was in the bathroom, front room where the homies engineered
Your friends couldn’t talk until your rap was through
What you know about, going in for the win, going all the way out
I done unlocked the fence, and I let the dogs out
Some squares tucking they broads now, don’t want to lose your world
After investing so much, but they belong to the game don’t none of ’em belong to us
I had a couple rolled up when I rolled up
Rolex out the window of a super sport Nova
I did a burnout it look like the tires exploded
I’m holding, but that’s like everyday if you know me

[Chorus]
Window down, top drop chiefin’ on a fat one
Window down, top drop chiefin’ on a fat one
Window down, top drop chiefin’ on a fat one
Outta ten hoes, nigga bet you I could mac one
Window down, top drop
Window down, top drop

[Verse 2: Scotty ATL]
Window down, top drop
Nigga gon’ get my guap
In and out of traffic like a nigga playing hopscotch
Tryna make the block rock, tryna find the soft spot
In my heart too much pain, crying on my guap like
Tears of joy, damn I’m proud of myself
Came out the motherfucking mud, that’s my cellphone
Checks, Cool Club, lames get no love
What you saying lil homie?
I kiss my cross for my dead lil homie
Saw a shooting star yesterday, felt God was speaking
Walk in the bank with that bag, the reefer wreaking
Had to let my nuts hang a little, new territory
Was scared for me, momma I made it
Went from spam in the can, to sea bass on plates
30 minutes in the dealership, new paper plates
My windows down, my wheels rolling like skates
ATL, New Orleans, straight drop, we pushing Wraiths

[Chorus]
Window down, top drop chiefin’ on a fat one
Window down, top drop chiefin’ on a fat one
Window down, top drop chiefin’ on a fat one
Outta ten hoes, nigga bet you I could mac one
Window down, top drop
Window down, top drop

Vanessa Hudgens & Ashley Tisdale – Ex’s & Oh’s (Elle King Cover)

[Verse 1]
Well, I had me a boy, turned him into a man
I showed him all the things that he didn’t understand
Whoa, and then I let him go
Now, there’s one in California who’s been cursing my name
Cause I found me a better lover in the UK
Hey, hey, until I made my getaway

[Pre-Chorus 1]
One, two, three, they gonna run back to me
Cause I’m the best baby that they never gotta keep
One, two, three, they gonna run back to me
They always wanna come, but they never wanna leave

[Chorus 1]
Ex’s and the oh, oh, oh’s they haunt me
Like ghosts they want me to make ’em O
They won’t let go
Ex’s and oh’s

[Verse 2]
I had a summer lover down in New Orleans
Kept him warm in the winter, left him frozen in the spring
My, my, how the seasons go by
I get high, and I love to get low
So the hearts keep breaking, and the heads just roll
You know that’s how the story goes

[Pre-Chorus 1]
One, two, three, they gonna run back to me
Cause I’m the best baby that they never gotta keep
One, two, three, they gonna run back to me
They always wanna come, but they never wanna leave

[Chorus 2]
Ex’s and the oh, oh, oh’s they haunt me
Like ghosts they want me to make ’em O
They won’t let go
Ex’s and the oh, oh, oh’s they haunt me
Like ghosts they want me to make ’em O
They won’t let go
Ex’s and oh’s

[Pre-Chorus 2]
One, two, three, they gonna run back to me
Climbing over mountains and a-sailing over seas
One, two, three, they gonna run back to me
They always wanna come, but they never wanna leave

[Chorus 2]
My ex’s and the oh, oh, oh’s they haunt me
Like ghosts they want me to make ‘em O
They won’t let go
Ex’s and the oh, oh, oh’s they haunt me
Like ghosts they want me to make ‘em O
They won’t let go
Ex’s and oh’s

Curren$y – Top Shelf Lyrics

Are we on the air?
Yes you are
Hello ma
Uh, I’d like to hear a new beat on the request line
Ok you got it, coming up

[Verse 1]
Uh where haven’t we been yet
Where haven’t we been yet
Uh yeah
As the Earth rotates and my name grows bigger
How many women wanna fuck this nigga
How many suckas hating on Hot Spitta
A mathematician would have to come up with the figures
I came up
Quicker than others, now they’re catching feelings
The closer to the deal I get, the more bullshit I’m in
Pay it no attention, I’m just focused on my business
Gearing up for the winter
Copping hooded chinchillas
Look how I supe the styles up with the stunting on them niggas
That’s why they don’t feel me
Add another nigga to the list of bitch boys claiming they wanna kill me
Guilty as a motherfucker if the charge is
Refusing to sell out as an artist
I represent the south on behalf of New Orleans
Even when I’m in the booth I hear the street talking
But them pussy cats don’t want me to send them dogs in
Yeah

[Hook]
You will wanna keep your negative remarks to yourself
FS Jets and we live top shelf
You will wanna keep your negative remarks to yourself
FS Jets and we live top shelf
You will wanna keep your negative remarks to yourself
FS Jets and we live top shelf
You will wanna keep your negative remarks to yourself
FS Jets and we live top shelf

[Verse 2]
FS Jets where haven’t we been yet
Brung my brothers to the lot, bought a dozen Corvettes
Throw some rims on them bitches
These ain’t like yours
All of these (?)
Word up
Roll up something, we can smoke it in the Porsche truck
Hear the plane engines and you know its us
Turn it up, let it bump, let it bang
Word to my skating homie Joe
What my homie claim?
Jets over everything
Events like this call for champagne
Toast to my haters, ya’ll a major inspiration
But watch what you’re saying
Cause my niggas will hear it before it even get to me
And the issue’ll be handled before I knew it was beef
But that ain’t really me
But that’s how its gotta be
Even when a nigga in a coupe I can hear the streets talking

[Hook]
You will wanna keep your negative remarks to yourself
FS Jets and we live top shelf
You will wanna keep your negative remarks to yourself
FS Jets and we live top shelf
You will wanna keep your negative remarks to yourself
FS Jets and we live top shelf
You will wanna keep your negative remarks to yourself
FS Jets and we live top shelf

The planes got it
Uh

Miranda Lambert – Six Degrees Of Seperation lyrics

[Verse 1]
Thought that I was safe down in New Orleans
’Til I picked up a quarter from 1979
Stuck it in the back pocket of these jeans
Worn in boyfriend button down Levis
In the saints town I can’t seem to figure out
How to get around, but I ain’t moving on
Threw the quarter in an old street case
And I’ll be damned, he started playing our song

[Chorus]
Six degrees of separation
You’re all over this damn nation
But I’m out of your reach geographically
But you still find a way to get a hold on me
And it’s six degrees of separation

[Verse 2]
Hailed a cab up in NYC
Saw an ad for a litigation lawyer on a bus stop bench
Sitting waiting for the red light to turn green
Smoke-breakers flirting on the steps of Merrill Lynch
Hit the Roosevelt, took it to the 12th
Got a funny feeling as I put my key in the door
Never seen the likes of these city lofts
I swear to god, son I’ve been here before

[Chorus]
Six degrees of separation
You’re all over this damn nation
I’m out of your reach geographically
You still find a way to get a hold on me
And it’s six degrees of separation

Well, it’s six degrees of separation
Yeah, it’s six degrees of separation

[Outro]
Thought that I was safe down in New Orleans
’Til I picked up a quarter from 1979

Primus – Wynona’s Big Brown Beaver

Wynona’s got herself a big brown beaver and she shows it off to all her friends.
One day, you know, that beaver tried to leave her, so she caged him up with cyclone fence.
Along came Lou with the old baboon and said "I recognize that smell, Smells like seven layers, That beaver eatin’ Taco Bell!".

"Now Rex he was a Texan out of New Orleans and he travelled with the carnival shows.
He ran bumper cars, sucked cheap cigars and he candied up his nose.
He got wind of the big brown beaver So he thought he’d take himself a peek, but the beaver was quick and he grabbed him by the kiwis,
and he ain’t pissed for a week.(And a half!)

Wynona took her big brown beaver and she stuck him up in the air, said "I sure do love this big brown beaver and I wish I did have a pair.
Now the beaver once slept for seven days And it gave us all an awful fright,
So I tickled his chin and I gave him a pinch and the bastard tried to bite me. Wynona loved her big brown beaverAnd she stroked him all the time.
She pricked her finger one day and it occurred to her she might have a porcupine.

B.o.B – Fkn Science Bro (Elements Album)

[Intro: Teacher]
Stop running in the halls! Stop! Slow down, sir! Slow down, sir! Stop running in the halls, sir! Anthony get to class! You’re never going to become a college student at that rate!

[Hook]
Fuckin’ science
Fu-fuckin’ science, bro
Labcoat, check, goggles, check
Nodules, check
Fu-fu-fu-fu-fuckin’ science, bro

[Verse 1: B.o.B + Teacher]
Hi-yah lads! Welcome to science class
Bob quit writin’ raps in your log sheet, nobody’s gon’ sign your ass
Okay let’s get scientific
Fossil fuels come from years and years of bio-decomposition
It’s really just scientific
Why didn’t all the fossils turn to oil?
Some did, some didn’t
Anyway…
Didn’t Rockerfeller pay the scientists off the year of the Geneva Convention?
Wait? What was that?
You wanna come up here in front of class?
What? You wanna teach?
You really think you’re smarter than me?
No sir, sit down
Here’s your homework on the atom bomb and the World War
How it affected us then and now
Well uh… I seen the footage and uh, I really just want some answers
How does someone film an atomic bomb and it doesn’t destroy the camera?
I mean…
I was just…
BRO!
Bro, I’m just sayin’… I don’t know

[Hook: B.o.B]
Fu-fuckin’ science, bro
Labcoat, check, goggles, check
Nodules, check
Fu-fu-fu-fu-fuckin’ science, bro

[Verse 2: B.o.B + Teacher]
Welcome to history, we evolved from neanderthalsThat is no mystery!
Well why are there no monkey fossils anywhere?
What, are you kidding me!?
I’m just sayin’… I just
Shoulda learned that way back in elementary
Man this nigga don’t know what the fuck he talkin’ about
I have a diploma, do you have a diploma?
Or a learning disorder?
My wife is a lawyer, we both have a daughter
She’s doin’ fine with the things that we taught her
Yeah I’m just usin’ the scientific method
Did we evolve from electronical boy or homo erectus?
And all of the fossilized footprints in the fossil records
Don’t show a line of thrust, that’s not consistent with compression
What the fuck did he just say??
Yeah, okay smartass
This is real knowledge, save all that hippie shit for art class
It’s really startin’ to bug me on this one
Gonna have to trust me on this one
I have done the studies on this one
You’re a little rusty on this one
I mean why can’t you just answer my question on the subject?
It’s not in the fuckin’ book
It’s not up for discussion

[Hook: B.o.B]
Science, I fuckin’ love science!
I fuckin’ love science!
I love science
Labcoat, check, goggles, check
Nodules, check
Fu-fu-fu-fu-fuckin’ science, bro

[Verse 3: B.o.B]
Damn, must have been a hell of them stegosauruses
Over a century burnin’ fossil fuels, still ain’t no shortages
I ain’t sayin’ I’m Neo, but I’m nothin’ short of a morpheus
Fuck, thought this was a globe, I gotta check my coordinates
You can blame my disorderly conduct on my subordinance
If it ain’t no Coriolis who’s to blame for New Orleans?
Why the poorest people always get extorted by corporate giants
We don’t boycott, we buy in and I find it unfortunate, yeah
Me plus you plus her plus her, that’s four (Math!)
Bring your worst and I’m gon’ bring much more
Leave your nerves, your skirt, both at the door
In case you didn’t know

[Hook: B.o.B + Scientist]
Fuckin’ science bro!
Well Earth shine is much brighter than moonshine
Fu-fuckin’ science, bro
Labcoat, check (moonshine)
Goggles, check (moonshine)
Nodules, check (moonshine)
Fuckin’ (moonshine)

[Verse 4: B.o.B.]
How many fingers am I holdin’ up?
Come and compete him if you’re bold enough
No Bobby Ray don’t give an ounce of fuck
Your team is weak, you beat your bouncer up

[Outro: Teacher + Neil deGrasse Tyson]
Student lives are what you are! God I hate my life. Hey you! You! Stop making out! I know your mother, Susan! I’m gonna tell Susan about this! Debrah! Is that coke???

I’m Neil deGrasse Tyson, bitch!

Leon Russell – The Battle Of New Orleans

In 1814, we took a little trip
Along with Colonel Jackson down the mighty Mississip’.
We took a little bacon and we took a little beans
And we caught the bloody British in a town in New Orleans.

We fired our guns and the British kept a-coming
There wasn’t nigh as many as there was a while ago.
We fired once more, and they began to running,
On down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico.

We looked down the river and we see’d the British come
and there musta’ been a hundred of ’em beating on the drum.
They stepped so high and they made their bugles ring
We stood beside our cotton bales and didn’t say a thing.

We fired our guns, and the British kept a-coming
There wasn’t nigh as many as there was a while ago.
We fired once more and they began to running,
On down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico.

Now cash rules, flash jewels on occasion
When I past through but if I pass through you know they paid me
Stack it till we got no where to put it
When I drive the fly ass ‘maro I park the bitch crooked
So you can see the 4g autos on it when you look in
Before we open the champagne bottles we shook ’em
It’s a celebration so we let this shit spill
We could have been killed in the field and that’s real
But we still here fuck a hater and how he feel
That’s signed and sealed
Straight deal quarter mill on the wheels
You gotta drive the bitch with skill
My engine in the back
My neighborhood on my hat
