‘Shark Tank’ Judges And Producers Spill Secrets On Eve Of 200th Episode: “I’m Surprised More Entrepreneurs Don’t Bomb” – Tribeca TV Festival

After joining the audience in applauding Greiner, Corcoran joked that because she does "95% of the work in my house, I think the panel should be 95% female."
"I'm really in favor of gender equality. "Everything in life should be very 50-50, male and female. So that's almost, I think, going too far," Greiner said. Women should have as much opportunity as men."
(The sixth regular shark, Robert Herjavec, was absent due to a schedule conflcit.) Five of the "sharks" who evaluate entrepreneurs on the show — Mark Cuban, Daymond John, Barbara Corcoran, Laurie Greiner and Kevin O'Leary — joined executive producers Clay Newbill and Yun Lingner for a panel discussion.
The show's evolution was evident in a short sizzle reel that played before the panel, which showed the initial set, complete with stacks of cash. Newbill called the first set "horrific — we couldn't look at it anymore" during post-production. and a connected wooden desk, like some corporate version of the Starship Enterprise.
The show's return to ABC on October 7 will be its 200th episode. it was a feast for fans of the show, detailing backstage details about the pitch process, how the show is shot and how it has evolved since it started. Talk of gender politics was as close as the hour-long session got to making news.
"I'm really surprised more of them don't bomb." "It's a really nerve-wracking process," Lingner said of the actual pitch while the cameras are running.
The show's ratings began in a much more modest range. Cuban joined in the second season. As the economy improved, so also did the chemistry on set. And O'Leary from the beginning has been content to play the foil, as he did onstage at Tribeca.
A lot of ground was covered, but things got interesting when the moderator asked Greiner and Corcoran whether they could envision a time when the panel of judges would be all-female, a sign of progress in the corporate world.
There's something to that." Compared with men, he said, women tend to set more realistic targets and achieve them more consistently. "They're better at mitigating risk for a whole host of reasons," he said. "They say if you want something done, ask a busy mother. O'Leary noted that most of his returns from Shark Tank investing have come from businesses run by women.
Tribeca TV Festival feted ABC reality juggernaut Shark Tank, which launched in the depths of the financial crisis in 2009 and is set to start its 10th season next month.
The panel did not include any audience Q&A portion, as other sessions have at Tribeca.
Producer Mark Burnett, who has clashed publicly this month with Tom Arnold over another one of his reality blockbusters, the Donald Trump-hosted The Apprentice, did not make an appearance at Tribeca.
"I said, 'I'm your man.'"” /> Burnett said "we're looking for an a–hole," O'Leary recalled of his entry into the show, whose Canadian iteration he has also starred on.
"We just throw ideas out there and they act like they're at a sample sale." Asked about what criteria are used for selecting candidates, Newbill and Lingner said commitment and charisma play key roles. But when they create the mosaic of aspirants — none of whom has been described beyond their first names to the judges — they are just looking for balance. "We never know what they're going to like," Lingner said.
Only after those auditions are captured on set do producers whittle down the final roster, selecting the several dozen eight-minute segments that will populate the season. Newbill and Lingner said roughly 170 pitches are picked from about 40,000 annual submissions. Of those hopefuls, nearly all are flown to LA, where they deliver hour-long presentations during intensive 10-to-12-hour shoots in June and September.
He personally pledged $10 million to women's organizations and gave an apologetic interview to ESPN. While it didn't get a mention onstage, Cuban has recently taken responsibility for decades of sexual harassment and misogyny in the operations of the NBA team he owns, the Dallas Mavericks.
"It's also about ethnicity, where you're from, perspective, life experiences. Cuban took the conversation in a different direction. Everybody brings something different to the table." "It's not just about gender," he said of assessing management.

Run The Jewels – Talk To Me letras

[Verse 1: Killer Mike]
We return from the depths of the badland
With a gun and a knife in our waistband
Went to war with the devil and shaytan
He wore a bad toupee and a spray tan
So high now, hoping that I land
On a Thai stick moving through Thailand
On the radio heard a plane hijack
Government be in debt while they cook crack
I move in a world of conspiracies
Obey no rules, I’m doing me
Smoke kush, transport to the airport
Customs found a joint in my passport
Pull cash and I gave him what he asked for
God damnit it’s a motherfucking miracle
Small bribe, made it back into America
Hit Uber and maneuvered out the area
Rhyme animal, pitbull terrier
Rap terrorist, terrorize, tear it up
Brought gas and the matches to flare it up
Militant Michael might go psycho
On any ally or rival
Born black, that’s dead on arrival
My job is to fight for survival
In spite of these AllLivesMatter ass white folk

This is spiritual warfare that you have been dealing with. This is not a fight that you have been dealing with flesh and blood but this is a fight against principalities and evil doers and unclean spirits. (RTJ3 motherfuckers)
[Verse 2: El-P]
Brave men didn’t die face down in the Vietnam muck so I could not style on you
I didn’t walk uphill both ways to the booth and back to not wile on you
You think baby Jesus killed Hitler just so I’d whisper?
When you’re safe and sound and these crooks tap your phone and now have a file on you?
What me worry? Nah buddy, I’ve lost before, so what?
You don’t get it, I’m dirt, motherfucker, I can’t be crushed
Fuckers open the books up and stop bullshitting the kid
My dick got a Michelin star, I’m on par with the best ever took the gig
I’m a super cat, from don dada to dusk, don’t bother to touch
I got firm clutch on the grip and the bucks
I might ghost ride a tank, take a ride to the bank
I’m the son of Rick Rubin rushing full-thrust
Don’t flash weak shit to the Shark Tank judge
Talk real good cause I’m smart and stuff
We a good crew to fuck with, better to love
