Kevin Reilly Drops Out Of SXSW For WarnerMedia Sit-Down

Having exited NBCUniversal last fall after a seven-year run, the quickly sought after Greenblatt was named to his newly created gig earlier this month. As part of that chairmanship, Greenblatt was been put in charge of the home of Game of Thrones following the sudden departure in this era of change of HBO CEO Richard Plepler at the end of February.
The meeting with the newly minted chairman of WarnerMedia Entertainment and Direct to Consumer comes around the same time Reilly was supposed to be on-stage at SXSW and the Austin Convention Center for a keynote interview – and, well, when the boss wants to chat, something has to give, if you know what I mean? The now President TBS, TNT and Chief Creative Officer Turner and Direct-to-Consumer will actually be sitting down with Bob Greenblatt tomorrow, afternoon, I hear.
Tomorrow’s meeting with Greenblatt has some urgency as WarnerMedia CEO CEO John Stankey announced last fall that that the service would be launching in the fourth quarter of 2019
EXCLUSIVE: Kevin Reilly has had to cancel a planned South By Southwest appearance set for Friday after the WarnerMedia executive got double booked.
Even before the last legal battles with the Justice Department over AT&T’s acquisition of Time Warner were finally over last month, TBS and TNT overlord Reilly was named to his expanded position last December.
At TCA last month, Reilly said that WarnerMedia’s yet unnamed and forthcoming streaming service will bring together its “treasure trove” of 42,000 hours of content from the "crown jewels" of HBO as well as brands such as DC, Looney Tunes, Turner, The CW and CNN, including big ticket series from the past like the currently Netflix housed Friends.
With that, who knows what more shake-ups we may see at WarnerMedia by the time it's all over.” /> SXSW 2019 runs from March 8 – 17 in the Republic of Austin, TX.

Michael Moore’s ‘TV Nation’ Reboot Not Going Forward At TBS

The reboot originally was eyeing a late-fall 217 premiere and was to be reminiscent of those TV Nation days (that nonfiction series won an Emmy in 2005) combining documentary and Moore’s comedic satire. The new show was to shine a light on DC politics, Wall Street and the 1%.
The series was to be "a raucous gathering place for millions of our fellow citizens in desperate need of a break from the screaming pundits and the purveyors of ‘alternative facts,’ ” Moore said at the time. And it will be the destination for those who want to know what’s really going on and what they might be able to do about it.” “Our show will be dangerous and relentless.
A Turner spokesperson told Deadline today the scheduling never worked out with Moore. Since the series was announced, he mounted a one-man Broadway show, the anti-Donald Trump play The Terms of My Surrender, which opened in July 2017 and closed after three months; and he made and released the feature documentary Fahrenheit 11/9, the follow-up to his Oscar-winning Fahrenheit 9/11, this past September.
Turner confirmed Thursday that TBS' planned reboot of Michael Moore's docuseries TV Nation is not going forward. At the time the series was to be called Michael Moore Live From the Apocalypse. That puts an end for now to the project, which TNT originally greenlighted and announced during the May 2017 upfronts.
Variety first broke the news of the show being scrapped.” />

‘Good Behavior’ Canceled By TNT After 2 Seasons

“It has a passionate audience,” TNT and TBS president Kevin Reilly told Deadline in May. Still, the show did strong business in delayed viewing and on digital platforms, drawing younger viewers, and became a cult favorite.
If I can get the real estate and the cash flow going to cap it off properly we’d figure it out.” “I don’t see multiple more seasons of it but there could be a way to cap that off for the audience that really loved it," he said back then. "Right now it’s not in the planning stages, but we have talked to the producers.
Indeed, talks continued over the past few months over ways “to properly bring it to a conclusion," as Reilly put it in May but there were unsuccessful.

"With a heavy heart I have to let you know that Good Behavior will not return for a third season on TNT," he wrote.
"I’ve always said I could write about Letty and Javier for 500 episodes," Hodge wrote. "Their relationship and place in the world live on the edge of something unique and beautiful and I’m more proud of creating their story than anything in my TV career thus far."
It's over — despite efforts to give Good Behavior a proper conclusion, there will be no third installment of the TNT series. The cancellation was just announced on Instagram by creator/executive producer Chad Hodge.
Its Live+same day ratings were low, a fraction of the second lowest-rated original drama series on the network. Despite solid reviews and a popular star, Michelle Dockery in her follow-up to hit Downton Abbey, Good Behavior never found a wide audience.
Good Behavior, from writer/showrunner Chad Hodge and Tomorrow Studios, was based on a series of books by Blake Crouch. It also stars Juan Diego Botto, Terry Kinney and Lusia Strus. It tells the story of Letty Raines (Dockery), a thief and con artist who becomes involved with a hitman, Javier Pereira (Juan Diego Botto).
Good Behavior was executive-produced by Hodge, Crouch, along with Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements  of Tomorrow Studios, a partnership between ITV Studios and Adelstein.

TNT Orders ‘Alienist’ Sequel ‘The Angel Of Darkness’ Limited Series

“Our audience fell in love with these multi-dimensional, timeless characters and the journey of their struggles living in complicated times. “We could not be prouder of The Alienist’s outstanding, award-worthy performance and all of the work the incredible actors and crew put in to bring that story and time period to life,” said Sarah Aubrey, executive vice president of original programming for TNT. With this new story in TNT’s Suspense Collection, we will further immerse viewers into their world as they are confronted with a new enemy.”
TNT has ordered The Angel of Darkness, a new limited series based on the sequel to author Caleb Carr’s bestelling The Alienist, with Alienist stars Daniel Brühl, Luke Evans and Dakota Fanning returning for the follow-up in an all-new storyline.
In the first series, Kreizler was relentless in his pursuit of a never-before-seen ritualistic killer murdering young boys. He was joined by newspaper illustrator John Moore (Evans) and Sara Howard (Fanning), an ambitious secretary determined to become the city's first female police detective. Laszlo Kreizler (Brühl), a brilliant and obsessive “alienist” in the controversial new field of treating mental pathologies. A gripping, turn-of-the-century murder mystery amidst the underbelly of New York City’s “Gilded Age,” The Alienist follows Dr.
A huge critical and ratings success, TNT's The Alienist is 2018’s top new cable series in 18-49, having reached more than 50 million people across multiple platforms. It also earned six Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Limited Series.
The Angel of Darkness is a co-production of Paramount Television and Turner's Studio T with Eric Roth, Anonymous Content's Steve Golin and Rosalie Swedlin and Cary Joji Fukunaga serving as executive producers.” />

Hulu Gets Into The Game, Announces It Will Sponsor NBA Playoffs On TNT – Update

The streaming service also will run ads, including those featuring NBA on TNT's talent, touting Hulu with Live TV. Under its partnership with Turner Sports, Hulu's name will be displayed during TNT’s first round, Conference Semifinals and Western Conference Finals.
Hulu said a "Presented by Hulu" tag will appear on NBA on TNT's opening graphic cards, as well as on custom billboards and scorecards throughout each game, throughout the first round, the conference semifinals and the western conference finals.
Last year, its name and bright red play logo were ubiquitous during the World Series games. Last month, YouTube announced it would be a presenting sponsor of the NBA Finals in a multiyear deal with the league. Analysts said YouTube saw success using such high-profile live telecasts to drive subscriptions.
"With each new sporting event from the Super Bowl to the Winter Olympics, we are seeing live sports shatter our TV tune-in records game after game, so we know sports are at the top of the list for our subscribers," said Patrizio Spagnoletto, Hulu's head of media and subscriber growth. "Our goal with both the NHL and NBA on TNT sponsorships is to ensure we are tapping into that passion shown by our current viewers, but also letting other fans know that Hulu is the best way to watch your favorite sports."” />
Earlier, the streaming service said it would become an official sponsor of the NHL's Stanley Cup Playoffs and Final. This is the second professional sports sponsorship deal Hulu has announced this week. Hulu will create video vignettes showcasing NHL stars, and its brand will be integrated with NBC Sports' NHL Live pre-game show.
UPDATED with comment from Hulu, 1:36 PM: Hulu has borrowed a promotional page from YouTube, announcing it will sponsor the NBA playoff games on TNT to promote its live TV service.

NBA All-Star Game Scores In Ratings For TNT & TBS

Sunday night's NBA All-Star Game, which aired on Turner-owned TNT and TBS, saw ratings gains in household viewership and all key demos, propelling TNT to win the night across all of cable television, based on metered market delivery.
Fergie's jazz-inspired, sultry performance of the national anthem sparked a Twitterstorm of its own, with some calling it "the worst rendition ever."” />
Turner's TV Everywhere platform also is up 101% in video starts for the 2018 All-Star Game over last year, and Turner’s Facebook and Twitter NBA social channels saw a 37% increase with video views over 2017.
Last night’s telecast also saw double-digit increases across all key demos, up 11% among adults 18-34, 10% in men 18-34, and up 6% in adults 18-49 vs. household rating and 5.1 million household impressions – both up 2% – the best for the event since 2013, based on Nielsen Fast Nationals. The telecast drew a 4.3 U.S. 2017, according to Turner and Nielsen.
Turner's coverage peaked with an average of 8.2 million total viewers from 9:15-9:30 PM ET.

KAMI – Right Now (feat. Vic Mensa)

[Hook: Vic Mensa]
Somebody tell me what’s good
Cause I been doing better right now
We roll our issues in them Backwoods
Bitches bigger than a nigga, niggas stressed out
But everybody got their own problems
I got mine I got mine I got mine
Everybody don’t know how to solve ’em
But I got mine I got mine I got mine

[Verse 1: Vic Mensa]
I don’t like the club but I like to have a table
I don’t like TV but you see my ass on cable
This shit could change so quick man
Just a year ago, I was leaving momma’s house behind a Toyota steering wheel
Fast forward just two months got my own apartment
Fucking hoes with my girl at stake on some Joan of Arc shit
My girl so TNT you know she know the drama
I got baby momma problems with no baby mama
By brother Joey paying child support he love his daughter
My other brother momma own that rock but no Gibralter
His Granny lost the crib now he’s sleeping in them bandos
Police running in at 8am, he jumping out the window
I’m in LA buying Saint-Laurent of Venmo cash
Lease the whip and two cribs money for the rent go fast
I’m on a bender like Avatar, ecstasy addiction
Sometimes I wish I could pass away just to see my niggas
It’s been a minute since childhood, the hood don’t seem the same
They show no mercy to the meek inside this fearless game
You see what Drizzy did to Milly this shit ain’t a battle
I don’t wanna watch the murder rate but I can’t change the channel
Jealousy and desperation that shit is all around me
My brother Kami still selling grams you think I’m worried ’bout a Grammy
Old man asked me for change so he could buy a bottle
I’m tryna’ get drunk too nigga I got my own problems

[Hook: Vic Mensa]
Somebody tell me what’s good
Cause I been doing better right now
We roll our issues in them Backwoods
Bitch bigger than a nigga, niggas stressed out
But everybody got their own problems
I got mine I got mine I got mine
Everybody don’t know how to solve ’em
But I got mine I got mine I got mine

[Verse 2: KAMI]
I hate the way they talk on you when you ain’t around
Open they mouth revealing crooked smiles
These days I been feeling abandoned since my niggas got that crib in Los Angeles
To these hoes: heartbreaks in the form of friendly handshakes
I gotta go
I need a bad duet to pour moet to drown this pain
Just cause it’s champaign don’t mean that this shit a celebration
Pour some bubbly for my niggas that’s been on vacation
Pour some bubbles for our niggas that gon’ never make it
Self-medicated, overdosing I need respiration
I’m running out of time, I’m running out of time
Everybody got their own problems now I know this
We runnin’ out of time, they said the world was mine

[Bridge: KAMI]
They said the world was mine, they said the world was mine
They said the world was mine, they said the world was mine

[Verse 3: KAMI]
Thank you and yes I really believe it
The moment I heard them breathe it
When me and Joe made that season
We had to give y’all a reason
I had to keep the lights on
I need my on power on, Farrakhan
Something on my arm, skin tint just like Sherezade’s
And life’s been playing out like an opera
Just like that motherfuckin’ opera
I watched some fat lady sing, I gotten used to some things I held on things, they was close
Upgrade that Merc to a Ghost
It’s like you bound to see Ghosts, when you start living the most
I’m doing this my way, I drive i swerve just like Sinatra
I swerve in any lane that car so black it grew a conscience
Same niggas next to me, duck that fact just like we playing Contra
We still alive, we stay alive and then repeat that process
There’s no such thing, there’s no such thing as running out of options
There’s no such thing, there’s no such thing as running out of options
Take your time with it, take your time with it
Don’t get caught up tryna do this shit for right now
